Barn fire

For someone who hasn't seen a large structure burn here are some pictures of a controlled barn fire. Here is a picture of John's old barn. It was structurally damaged several years ago by high winds. Here is a size comparison of the barn and John. L.D. dropped by to show us the finer points of his home maintenance business. It took a while for the open barn to build up heat.... ...but once it did it only took a couple minutes to become fully involved. The old barn burned majestically for 15 minutes or so... ...until it finally gave way... ...and went to the ground. These pictures are a sobering reminder to the speed and lethality of fire.
